Ear Aesthetics
This is the most frequent reason for aesthetic ear operations. Ears are turned anteriorly. This deformity is also known as “prominent ear” or “protruding ear”. Although it is not a disease and health problem it may cause serious psychological problems especially in the early childhood and even in the adulthood.
Treatment is usually surgical. Correction can be done as early as 5 years old. Several operations are described for this deformity. Dr. Ozgentas uses his own otoplasty technique which is presented at the world congress of the International Confederation for Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) in 2013 (Santiago, Chile).
